1. Service Description

MatchPoint is a lineup optimization tool for USTA league tennis captains. It uses publicly available player data from TennisRecord.com and USTA NorCal to generate lineup recommendations, compute player ratings, and predict opponent lineups.

MatchPoint is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the United States Tennis Association (USTA), USTA NorCal, or TennisRecord.com.

2. Account Registration

You must provide a valid phone number to create an account. By registering, you confirm that:

  • You are a USTA league tennis captain or authorized team representative
  • Any USTA NorCal credentials you provide are your own and you are authorized to use them
  • The information you provide is accurate

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the service to harass, stalk, or harm other players
  • Attempt to access data for teams you are not authorized to manage
  • Reverse-engineer, scrape, or extract data from MatchPoint for commercial purposes
  • Interfere with the operation of the service

4. Lineup Recommendations

Lineup recommendations are generated by algorithms and are provided for informational purposes only. MatchPoint does not guarantee that any recommended lineup will result in a win. All final lineup decisions are the captain's responsibility.

5. Third-Party Data

Player ratings, match results, and other data sourced from TennisRecord.com and USTA NorCal are provided as-is. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of third-party data. Data may be delayed, incorrect, or unavailable due to changes in source websites.

6. SMS and Email Notifications

Signing in to MatchPoint uses a one-time passcode (OTP) texted to your phone number. These verification messages are transactional — sent only when you request a code — and are required for phone-based authentication.

Notification SMS is a separate, optional opt-in offered as an unchecked-by-default checkbox during account setup or later from the app. The disclosure shown at opt-in is: “Text me match reminders, availability requests and team updates. Automated & recurring texts from MatchPoint; frequency varies. Message & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help. Consent not required to use MatchPoint.”

Reply STOP to any message to unsubscribe from notification SMS at any time. Reply HELP to any message for help. Verification codes (one-time passcodes used to sign in) are essential to account access and may continue to be delivered after you opt out of notification messages.

SMS delivery is powered by Twilio. We do not share mobile information with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. See our Privacy Policy for details.

7. Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. You may delete your account at any time by contacting us.

8. Limitation of Liability

MatchPoint is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, including but not limited to match outcomes, data inaccuracies, or service interruptions.

9. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
